September 2012 marked the beginning of some new inspiration and refocus on painting. The following are some works in progress.

June 2012

A work in progress – still playing with this one. Painted with acrylics, many times over. (My Mum).

May as well continue with the family – my dog – Panda Bear.

Here is Kate, my beautiful step-daughter.

Oliver – my step-son. He’s just a mite here!

Family is finished – I’ll get back to the missing members one day. This is Katrina – my gorgeous girlfriend. We’re on holiday in Bali here (2010).

Painting inspired by an Ando Hiroshige woodblock print.

Painting for my niece’s 21st birthday. I found a photo in a magazine. It was tiny, about 3 cm square so it left a lot of room for imagination.

One of my favourite Australian artists is David Bromley and this painting is a copy of his. I loved the colours so much (and couldn’t afford the original even if it was for sale) that I painted my own.

Another David Bromley copy. This was the first time I discovered him – it was in a newspaper article and once again this was a small 3cm image.

This pencil drawing is the second in series of fine detail artworks completed in my teens and twenties.

Painting of Liv Tyler for my other niece’s – Stephanie – 21st birthday.

Robert Maplethorpe’s photography has provided inspiration along the way and this painting is from his flower series.

Another Robert Maplethorpe inspired painting

Nude with collage.

Once again I found this little image in the newspaper and used it as a base for this painting. Unfortunately I can’t find the original to credit the source but will keep looking.

Painting of tulip

Copy of a painting by Gay & Carol Henderson. You may have guessed – I like red.

I think this one was from a birthday card , but it could easily be a Robert Maplethorpe photograph too.

Painting of a Lily.
